Photographer Sacha Maric was born and raised in London where he developed an early love for painting and drawing. This led him to The Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design to study Fine Art, until an introduction to the dark room and photography brought the realization of a greater passion, and the paint brushes were abandoned. Upon graduating, Sacha began exploring the world of documentary photography, assisting Zed Nelson, while also admiring the London based style magazines like The Face, Dazed & Confused and i-D. It wasn’t until he moved to Copenhagen where his career as a fashion photographer began. Sacha’s style is the culmination of his art background and London street aesthetic with a clean and minimal Scandinavian expression.
Sacha has released two books of his personal work: Thrashers (2010), a series of screengrabs from 80’s heavy metal concert videos found on YouTube, and Good Mother and Father (2012), a collection of personal pictures chronicling his experience in becoming a first-time parent; a meditation on life, death and sex. He is currently working on two more books of his personal photography.
Taking fast to the fashion world, Sacha’s talents have already been the request from such editorial clients as Allure, ArtReview, Dansk, Dazed & Confused, Interview, Junk, Office, Teen Vogue, W, Wallpaper and WSJ. He has also attracted such brands as Adidas Originals, Coach, Converse, Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, Wood Wood, and Zara.
Sacha Maric now lives and works in New York.
